Getting Started
How do I know if Eldercare Navigators is right for me?
We help families prepare for the challenges of aging family members while ensuring they receive the quality care they deserve. We can evaluate the lifestyle needs of the client in need and synchronize these needs with their financial resources. We will work as a team with the family and their trusted advisors to ensure that their wishes are carried out according to their desires and needs and/or provide them with a vetted list of additional local resources if needed. We hold no contracts with any resources we refer you to, therefor you can be assured that when we are recommending a vetted community services to help meet your needs, we will receive no payment for any referral, because we know YOU are our customer, not them.
My parent is at the hospital and the social worker said s/he has to discharge to a nursing home. I want to make the best decision, but I don't have a lot of time.
Eldercare is right for you, if you or your loved one is at the hospital and were told that you need to go to a lesser level of care, potentially a rehab facility for short-term or long-term care, and aren’t sure of all the options out there to choose from. We understand that you may need to act quickly because frequently the hospital may NOT want to keep you there longer than three nights, so don’t hesitate to give us a call to see how we can help.
What other options exist, besides putting my loved one in a nursing home?
Some people benefit from the services of a skilled long-term care nursing home, but others might fare better in an Assisted Living Facility, a Continuing Care Retirement Facility, a memory care facility, an Adult Family home or remain home with support services.
In addition, we offer assistance to those looking to bring your loved one closer to you from outside of your state.
Can you help develop a plan of care for those who want to live at home?
We’re happy to meet with you in-person or over the phone, to determine if this is a viable option. And we would love to help develop a plan and organize services to meet your individual needs to enable you or your loved one to live safely at home.
What do I do if I have questions about Coronavirus?
First, we would love to talk with you , so please feel free to email or call us. Also, we have developed a resource page for commonly asked questions, that hopefully can help you.
Services & Payment
FAQ
How is Eldercare Navigators different than the other FREE placement services I see on the Internet?
Great question! What most, unfortunately, don’t see with the other services that say they do not charge you for placement assistance, isn’t being completely honest. Because instead of charging you up front for their service, what they’re doing instead, is getting paid on the back end for it – from the limited amount of facilities that are in their system (whether good or bad) and they get a commission for. And instead of telling you how there’s “no cost to you” what they are actually doing is getting paid by the facility in which they have a contract or an arrangement with where you are being placed. And isn’t going to tell (or refer you to) any better alternatives out there, that aren’t in their system.
Where Eldercare Navigators differs is how we provide open and transparent pricing that includes an incredible amount of personalized attention and expertise, from a completely unbiased and vetted facility that truly matches your own unique needs. Not in a facility that’s paying us for referring you to them.
Is there a cost for your service?
Yes. Like most companies similar to ours, there is a cost to our service. However, instead of being paid on the back end, where salespeople have to hit a monthly quota based on the number of referrals they make to other entities, we instead pride ourselves by being completely transparent and honest on our pricing and all that it includes. And because we have the kind of experience most companies don’t, we feel the type of value we provide for you, will far outweigh any costs. We do not accept any gifts, referral fees, commissions or kickbacks from any facility, provider, or other entity or organization we refer you to, which unfortunately is unusual in our field.
How do your errand services work?
We can provide you or a loved one assistance getting to/from appointments, grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, organizing incoming mail, going to the post office and any routine personal errands you or a loved one might require. We will work with you to receive specific instructions so that your errands are completed as if you had completed them yourself! Anything you need us to do for you that has been mutually agreed upon in advance. These tasks are billed at hourly rates with a two hour minimum.
I have a specific issue I need help with that I don’t see you offer. Can I discuss this with you?
Sure! Having worked in the long-term care industry for over 20 years, there’s a lot of things we can help with, that most don’t know about. Just give us a call to schedule a FREE 30-minute consultation to talk about the wide array of services that have helped a tremendous amount of people over the years. Those who needed help, fast, but didn’t know where to turn.
Healthcare & Insurance
FAQ
I’m unsure of the healthcare directives my loved one has in place. What do I do?
We can review any advance directives you have to help ensure that your wishes will be honored during any hospitalization scheduled or unscheduled. If you do not have any healthcare directives, we can possibly help you with that too.
Is there any easier way to take care of these healthcare bills?
Yes! Contact us today and we can help you sort through your bills to determine if each provider has your correct insurance information and to ensure they billed it properly before you pay any unnecessary bills (something that’s hard to see, if you don’t know what to look for).
How do you know what our health insurance covers? And what it does not?
We’re happy to review your health insurance with you over the phone, so we can let you know if services are covered. And if they are not, what other options for you exist to help reduce them.
How do I know if I qualify for Medicaid?
We’re happy to review your circumstances, to help you determine this. If you do qualify for Medicaid, we can usually help you through the application and approval process rather quickly too.
Ca you help me navigate my Long Term Care Insurance?
Yes, we help many clients through this process.
